Our ideal candidate has at least 7 years of experience on a wide variety of projects from takeoffs and layout, to rafters and stairs, and at least 2 years of experience supervising and managing a team on a job site. This is a tool-belt-on position that will lead the on-site crew and trades with support from a project manager. Our ideal hire is knowledgeable in high performance building or wants to learn about new ways of building that go beyond the basic building code. They have a working knowledge of exterior insulation, detailing rain-screens, advanced framing, air sealing and building science. If you are an experienced carpenter, but do not have experience with high-performance building, we are looking for someone with the desire to learn new skills and have training available. The compensation range for this position is $25-35/hour dependent upon abilities, experience, and tool collection. Our ideal candidate has 5+ experience in carpentry, both new construction and renovation, and familiarity and experience with energy & weatherization work. They have a high level of experience with all basic hand and power tools commonly used for construction/carpentry and have reliable transportation and basic tools. The carpenter can support and work with the crew and trades effectively and contribute to a positive culture, providing on-the-job guidance and training as needed to apprentices. The compensation range for this position is $22-25/hour dependent upon abilities and experience. We welcome individuals just starting in the construction industry with the desire to learn new skills and can provide on-the-job training. The role of the Apprentice is to execute a variety of manual jobsite tasks under the Lead Carpenter’s directives and the project schedule. The Apprentice is expected to coordinate effectively with all members of the jobsite crew, including trade contractors, and support the Lead Carpenter and other project team members as needed. They support the Lead Carpenter in maintaining a clean and well-organized jobsite. The compensation range for this position is $16-22/hour dependent upon abilities and experience.
